Social Marketing Overload
Ever feel like you'll never keep up with all of the social buzzing you must do in the new social media promotion game?  It all gets a little overwhelming, especially since every day
another guru comes out with yet another great tip and must do tactic.

Twittering, Friending, Powncing, OH MY!  The list is ever growing.  The guys over at PromoteMySite.com have come up with a handy social network tool for SEO . The social heartbeat monitor ranks sites by order of lots of different categories available as a downloadable csv file of over 2500 social 2.0 sites catagorized by dead, zombie, live etc...  You can sort it by amounts of backlinks and a gazillion other geeky ways.  It really is very helpful and I recommend everyone register (free) and grab your own copy to geek around with. (hours and hours of tweaking and sorting)

Suggestion, keep a spreadsheet of all of your ongoing social promotions it really saves time and helps you remember to update all of your feeds and "feeder sites".I categorize mine by types of sites.

Networking (facebook, myspace, hi5, linkedin)

Bookmarking(ka-boom-it,digg,stumbleupon)

Blogging(blogger,wordpress,livejournal)

Feeder Sites(squidoo,hubpages,weebly)

Wikis(wetpaint,aboutus,pageflakes)

Microblogs(twitter,pownce,tumblr)

I then make note, on each sheet, of keywords targeted, logins and passwords, action taken and dates.  Then list the results.  In this way I can easily see all of my ongoing campaigns and keep track of what I'm doing and have done.

I go one step further and create macros for each day to go to each site and update once a week.  Organization is key to keeping your social marketing under control and on track.  I'm sure there is some wonderful software out there somewhere that does all of this for you, but for now I'm sticking to good old fashioned spreadsheets.
