How do I get Backlinks?

OK this is one that is asked a lot and there are A LOT of ways to get back-links.

First of all, of course you want to write great content that others will want to link to. (that’s a given)  But apart from that there are many techniques and tips to getting more backlinks.  Posting on the socials, commenting on blogs, signatures in forums, article directories, rss directories, video sharing sites, podcast directories, micro-blogs, profiles.  All of these can be used for back-linking.

Now having said that I’m sure I’m going to get blasted by the bloggers out there.  “Spammer!  You’re the reason why blogs have to disable comments and use no-follow.”  No, please wait, hear me out.  When I say comment on blogs I mean post USEFUL comments that CONTRIBUTE  to the conversation.  Do you really think that “nice post” and “great tips” contribute much to the conversation?  Think about it.

Same thing goes with ALL social platforms, become a contributing member of the community.  Post useful relevant content, people will begin to see you as an authority in your niche and will start linking to you.
