Day Time TV….Who would have thought?

April 23, 2008

Yesterday I did something that I almost never do. I was watching the morning news shows. I ended up with so many niche ideas, that I had to shut off the TV so that my brain would calm down, and I could get some work done.

Yesterday was Earth Day so that could have been one of the reasons that they were all so informative. I however believe you can watch any random morning and get tons of ideas. So this morning I did it again…..low and behold ideas were running amok in my brain before I shut the TV off.

Everything from Politics, to matchmaking, to UFO’s were the topics this morning. Of course there were recipes… along with the typical where to get…how to grow…and more about the food.

There are celebrity interviews, where they even reveal thought provoking information. Who knew that Kelsey Grammer had political aspirations?

Did you know there is powdered shampoo, or have you ever thought how much waste and container refuse there is with shower gel-compared to bar soap?

Women are the people you have to make sure you are selling to. Did you know that women make 85% of all buying decisions? You do now. They are the main decision makers for big ticket items too like real estate, and cars. We all know that over 90% of all household items are purchased by women.

If you are having trouble with new topics, or new products for your niche….just give morning tv a shot sometime. See what pops for you.

The best thing about getting the information off of the morning news shows ……This is all cutting edge stuff, that people will be searching for the rest of the day online. If you can quickly write an article or even know what is coming up and do it the night before you will hit some jackpots.

Holiday & Event Niches

St Patricks Day

Some of the most overlooked niches that can bring the greatest amount of profit in a short time are ones that are seasonal, or events.

You can do these on a local level, national level or world wide. For instance we just had two holidays where people were spending money like crazy . Easter is fantastic for sales of not only religious materials, but for the commercial side. Easter Eggs, the Easter Bunny, and all the trappings that go with it.

Saint Patricks day had the opportunity to really make a lot of cash for those that were prepared for it before Valentines day and could segway their holiday traffic into the next event.

You can easily do this with a generic holiday domain and then use subdomains to set it up. That way your site remains active and people can buy year long if they choose.

Boston MarathonYou also can make a lot of money if your area has a big National event. The Boston Marathon, Calgary Stampede, Daytona 500 are all examples of these. There are motels, souvenirs, tickets and more that you can use to make the site pay, and since it is something you know about or have personal knowledge of it is easy to write content, and give your visitors great information.

The great part is that there are a lot of really great long tail keywords you can use in these areas.
